In the afternoon of February 24, 2018, Mr. Sanghwa Park, Director of Korean Education Center in Washington DC, together with Ms. Lee Kwang-ja, Chairperson of Korean American Education Foundation, met with Ms. Maria Navarro, Chief Academic Officer, Mr.  Jimmy D'Andrea, Principal of Northwest High School, and Ms. Angela Stevenson to discuss introducing Korean language programs to secondary schools of MCPS.
