Mr. Sanghwa Park, director of Korean Education Center in Washington DC, attended the 2017 Korean Essay Contest awards ceremony held at New Hope Academy in Prince George County on January 25, 2018. At the awards ceremony, Mr. Park awarded certificates and scholarships to 9 students, including 12th grade Cao Khang who won the 1st place prize, 2 studetns for 2nd place, and 4 students for encouragement awards. In the meantime, Mr. Park had a meeting with Principal Joy Morrow and Ms. Inku Marshall, who is in charge of managing the Korean language course, to discuss the necessity of development of Korean language curriculum according to the guidelines of the Maryland Board of Education,.
